Breastfeeding, isn't it meant to be easy?
Breastfeeding is natural and one of the most amazing things mothers can experience and do for their baby. We all read and hear about the benefits of breastfeeding. I don’t think the benefits are in question. But what happens when you just can’t breastfeed? Physiologically we are made to do it. If you have the ‘equipment’, then of course you should be able to breastfeed. But sometimes it’s just not that easy!

Today I received a fantastic email from a customer who purchased the breastfeeding support bra. She is so pleased with the results. He rmilk came in Day 4 and she had so much she was suffering from breast engorgement. She was so worried it would turn into mastitis so she applied the gel packs frozen and this helped managed her milk supply plus soothe her aching breasts. What great feedback.

It’s Roma Street parklands for Mothers Group today. But the most exciting thing about today is our first night out to a black tie ball. I haven’t dressed up in a couple of years! I can’t wait. My Scotsman buys me a Lisa Ho dress every year for Christmas. I know, I am very lucky. He gets my size right every year (the frightening thing is my dress size has gone up every year over the past 5 years!) and he has the most exquisite taste. Although I guess you can hardly go wrong with Lisa Ho right? Anyway, I will

Booboo does a repeat of Monday night and sleeps from 7.30pm to 1.00am. She feeds quickly this time and is asleep within an hour. Another bearable evening. Booboo and I take Arthur to Mt Coot-tha for a hike. It is a beautiful spring day and it is so nice to be out with Booboo taking in the day. I head over to Mama’s Home and buy Spike the cutest bed spread. This weekend we are finally putting up her toddler bed so I can start transitioning her from the cot to the bed. I will start with her day time sleep

Booboo didn’t sleep from 10.30 to 5.30am. It was a fluke. She did only stay up for 1 hour though. So I am grateful! It’s my first day back to the gym and after missing the spin class, I decide to run on the treadmill. I start on 8km an hour to ease myself in. My competitive spirit kicks in and I tell myself I’m being soft. So I decide to crank it up to 12km. I regret this when I come off and hobble out of the gym. I think I’ve done something to my hip flexor. What an idiot. I

Booboo has slept from 10.30 to 5.30pm. Yippee!!! I hope it’s not a fluke and she has actually started a new routine. I can only be hopeful, right? Spike goes to day care and I have Booboo to myself for the day. I’m coming out of the darkness so to speak. I had forgotten how hard the first 8 weeks could be. Now I feel like I can enjoy my baby. I cuddle her tightly and enjoy the beautiful smiles and laughs I am getting from her. The sleepless nights are worth it. Four weeks ago I wasn’t so sure. Sleep

Today is a marathon day for mamá y bebé. I start with all the unexciting things like updating MYOB. Painful. I pack the orders for the day in between Booboo sleeping and feeding and arrange promotions for customers based in Melbourne and Perth. A friend who is in the process of establishing a new range of children's pyjamas, pops over and we workshop her business model. It feels nice to be busy doing things that are not baby related. It's nice to brain storm with another business minded woman. I love being a mum. But I also like focusing on something that is
