The joys of breastfeeding
It’s Roma Street parklands for Mothers Group today. But the most exciting thing about today is our first night out to a black tie ball. I haven’t dressed up in a couple of years! I can’t wait. My Scotsman buys me a Lisa Ho dress every year for Christmas. I know, I am very lucky. He gets my size right every year (the frightening thing is my dress size has gone up every year over the past 5 years!) and he has the most exquisite taste. Although I guess you can hardly go wrong with Lisa Ho right? Anyway, I will wear one of them tonight.
I run around getting my chores done with Booboo strapped to my chest and Spike tagging along. I need to get ready before the hour of power so that once the girls are down, all I need to do is feed Booboo just before I put on my dress and scoot out the door. Plan fails! Spike decides a melt down is a good idea right about 5pm and Booboo won’t stop feeding.
I do my makeup and hair in less than 10 minutes. Oh you so can tell! The babysitter arrives and The Scotsman and I fly out the door. Dinner is amazing. The chef has outdone himself although Masterchef does have a lot to answer for. Following dinner, the chef is invited to explain the menu, ingredient by ingredient, followed by techniques and ALL methods used. After about 30 minutes of listening to him, everyone at our table (us included!) are realising we probably shouldn’t have inhaled the entre in two minutes now knowing the tomatoes had been hydrating for four days!
Anyway, I am enjoying great conversation and delicious wine but can feel the size of breasts increasing second by second! Ah the joys of breastfeeding! I warn my husband that it is time to leave. My dress is only moments away from exploding!
